Sarah graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2005 with concurrent degrees, a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and a Bachelor of Education (Elementary). In 2010, she graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with a Master of Education (Educational Psychology), with a specific focus in teaching children who are blind or visually impaired. Sarah worked for APSEA (Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority) as a teacher for children who are blind or visually impaired for 12 years, taking an educational leave to complete the Master of Education in Counselling program at Acadia University in 2021. Working as a school counsellor for the Halifax Regional Centre for Education since 2021, she also became a Certified Canadian Counsellor and Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate (Nova Scotia) in 2023. In 2025, she became a Counselling Therapist, registered to practice on Prince Edward Island.

Sarah’s counselling experience is primarily with children using CBT, play based therapy, and mindfulness techniques while using a person centred and trauma informed approach. She has recently begun working with adult clients in an online setting.

Humour and approachability are two qualities that are essential in Sarah’s work. Her practice model involves meeting clients where they are at and recognizing that her clients are the experts of their own lives.
